Snowwater Buys Valhalla Powdercats
Snowwater Heliskiing and Snowcat Skiing in Nelson, B.C., has acquired Valhalla Powdercats, making this new combined helicopter and snowcat team the largest and most diversified heli-cat ski operation in Canada.
Snowwater and Valhalla will continue to operate under separate names but will share their extensive guiding and management expertise. A new central reservation system will make booking combo trips easier. Guests now have access to three mountain ranges and an increased variety of vacation choices.
Valhalla Powdercats Owner Martin Keyserlingk will keep his position as operations manager of the Valhalla Snowcat portion of the business. New improvements are already underway, including expanded ski terrain, sound systems for each cat and other client comforts. Future plans include the construction of a lakeside mountain lodge.
Snowwater will now provide the heli-skiing component for both operations. Snowwater offers an intimate small-group setting catering to no more than 12 guests at a time and only four people per guide. Snowwater clients stay high in the mountains in a luxurious timber frame lodge featuring five-star cuisine. Snowwater has a snowcat backup for heli clients that guarantees skiing and riding every day, regardless of the weather.
