Horizon Air Adds Larger Aircraft to Popular Seattle Routes For Winter and Spring
Horizon Air will use larger aircraft on some of its most popular flights from Seattle to other cities in Washington (Bellingham and Pasco) and British Columbia (Kamloops, Kelowna and Victoria), starting as early as Jan. 28, 2007.
The 74-seat Q400 turboprop flies at nearly jet aircraft speed and is a relatively quiet aircraft. Horizon operates 20 Q400 aircraft, and has an additional 12 on order for delivery starting in late 2006. Select flights currently operated with 37-seat Q200 turboprops will be replaced with the Q400 as follows:
Kamloops, B.C.: Once-daily seasonal service to the city of Kamloops and the Sun Peaks Resort will resume Dec. 15, 2006, with a Q200 and then be upgraded to a Q400 starting Jan. 28, 2007.
Kelowna, B.C.: All four flights will be operated with Q400s to better accommodate ski season travel to Big White, Silver Star, and Apex Mountain ski resorts. Horizon's four year-round flights to Kelowna are currently operated with Q200s. One Q400 will replace a Q200 starting Dec. 15, 2006, and the remaining three Q200s will be replaced with Q400s starting Jan. 28, 2007. After the ski season, all four flights will revert back to Q200s.
Bellingham, WA: The current schedule of eight flights with Q200s will be replaced with three flights operated with Q400s and four with Q200s starting March 18, 2007. The larger aircraft will boost the overall number of seats on the route by 25 percent.
Pasco, WA: Two of the eight daily flights currently operated with Q200s will be replaced with Q400s starting April 8, 2007, adding 28 percent more seats to the market. A year ago Horizon cut fares on the route by up to 37 percent, stimulating more demand from both business and leisure travelers on the route.
Victoria, B.C.: The current schedule of seven daily flights with Q200s will be replaced with four flights operated with Q400s and two with Q200s starting April 8, 2007. The larger aircraft will boost the overall number of seats on the route by 43 percent.
Reservations on all these new flights are available now at www.horizonair.com or by calling (800) 547-9309.
