Crested Butte, Big White and Silver Star Prove the Best Things in Life Are Free
You have always heard that nothing is "free"—well, they lied. Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colo., and Big White and Silver Star, B.C., are all offering early-season promotions that include free skiing.
At Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR), skiing and riding is absolutely, positively, incredibly, 100 percent FREE, with no strings attached, from Nov. 25 through Dec. 15, 2007.
CBMR has resurrected its popular "Ski Free" promotion and will once again be giving away lift tickets for three weeks. You don't have to enter anything, buy anything, do any fancy dance steps or answer any trivia questions to be able to ski or ride Crested Butte for free. All you need to do is go to the ticket office during these days and one of the resort's ticketing specialists will smile, give you a lift ticket and send you to the slopes to ski or ride for free.
"We want guests to come 'test drive' Crested Butte," said Randy Barrett, vice president and general manager of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. "We have done so many improvements since the Mueller's took the helm; we want to show them off. Everyone will be able to see and sample Colorado's Best Corduroy™ and our commitment to great early-season skiing and riding, all for free!"
Crested Butte's original "Ski Free" promotion, the most successful ski industry-wide program ever, ran from 1991 through 2000. The 2007 promotion also includes deals on lodging, adult lessons and kids' programs. Silver Star and Big White, B.C.
Stay at sister resorts Silver Star or Big White in British Columbia and ski and ride for FREE from opening day until Dec. 20, 2007. You must book your accommodation through Silver Star Holidays or Big White Central Reservations in order to ski free.
Silver Star and Big White are so confident about offering the best early-season conditions anywhere that they are providing a "Snow Guarantee" on natural snow conditions. If each of the resorts are unable to operate at least one lift due to lack of snow, guests can select to change their accommodation package to another available date or cancel with no penalty whatsoever.
Here's the fine print: The "Ski Free" offer is valid based on double occupancy in select hotel rooms, select one- and two-bedroom condos, and is also valid based on quad occupancy in select three- or four-bedroom condominiums and vacation homes. The offer is valid from opening day (scheduled for Nov. 22) through Dec. 20, 2007. A two-night minimum stay is required. Some restrictions apply. The offer is open to residents of Canada and the U.S. only. The offer is valid for NEW bookings only and please quote CC at time of booking.
